The best views from Nothe Fort are from the ramparts, where you can look down to Weymouth Harbour on one side and Portland Harbour on the other. It is a good place to view Portland Breakwater too. This breakwater was built to protect Portland Harbour in the mid 19th century, of course the fort added to the protection.
